Abstract
The aim of this article is to clarify the categorization of interpretation, also understood as oral translation. There are many types of interpretation proposed by scholars. Some of the categorizations are similar, but some are overlapping and show inconsistency. First, existing definitions and classifications of interpretation are reviewed in terminological, conceptual and classification confusions are pointed out. Then, based on analysis, the new interpretation classifications are proposed.
